Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has alleged that Iran targeted one of his sons in an assassination attempt. The claim was made during a Monday interview with Israeli Channel 14, though Netanyahu did not identify which of his two sons was allegedly targeted, nor did he offer specific details about the purported plot.

Netanyahu's statement emerged during a discussion regarding the security arrangements for Gadi Eisenkot, the former chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces and a significant political rival of the prime minister. Netanyahu advocated for permanent security for Eisenkot, citing existing threats and suggesting that without it, "the Iranians will succeed" in their alleged intentions.

Israeli journalist Amit Segal later reported on Telegram that the alleged assassination attempt had been known for months but was subject to a gag order preventing its publication.
