Netanyahu rejects Trump's 15-point Gaza plan, demands full Hamas disarmament

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has firmly rejected a 15-point plan put forth by former U.S. President Donald Trump, which aimed to guide the next phase of a ceasefire in Gaza. Netanyahu reiterated Israel's stance that its military will not withdraw from the Palestinian territory until Hamas is fully disarmed.

In a video message to his cabinet, Netanyahu declared, "Israel rejects the 15-point document. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will not withdraw until Hamas is disarmed. And when I say disarm Hamas, I mean all its weapons: the heavy ones, the less heavy ones, all of them. We are talking about a real disarmament, not a fictitious one."

Netanyahu also indicated that he is discussing "unacceptable" ideas with his U.S. allies, suggesting potential disagreements on the path forward. This comes after Trump announced on July 30 that a Peace Board had reached a "historic agreement" for the complete disarmament of Hamas, intended to facilitate the second phase of a ceasefire.

The 15-point roadmap was designed to revive an initial 20-point peace plan. It reportedly required Israel to commit to terms signed in October 2025, including a cessation of military operations in Gaza. However, Israel's withdrawal beyond the 'yellow line' was contingent on Hamas's disarmament, according to a statement from Peace Board representative Nikolai Mladenov.
