New Appointments Made for Attica Region's Deputy Governorships

Nikos Hardalias, the Regional Governor of Attica, has appointed two new Deputy Regional Governors to enhance the region's administrative structure. Christos Theodoropoulos has been assigned the portfolio of Institutions, Transparency, and Electronic Governance, while Lefteris Kosmopoulos will lead Metropolitan Infrastructure and Networks.

We are in the middle of our term, as we have two and a half more years of substantial work ahead of us that we must fully utilize, without a single day wasted.

These appointments are part of an effort to adapt the administrative framework of the Attica Region to the needs of the upcoming period, aligning with the provisions of the new Charter of Self-Government. The goal is to achieve a better distribution of responsibilities and more effective coordination across critical sectors.

Theodoropoulos will manage transparency and accountability issues, overseeing the implementation of the "Diavgeia" program and ensuring the legality of administrative acts. His responsibilities also include electronic governance, digitalization of regional services, and the adoption of new technologies to simplify procedures. He will also handle institutional cooperation and represent the region in interactions with decentralized administrations, ministries, and municipalities.

With the appointment of the two new Thematic Deputy Regional Governors, we are organizing our work better for the period ahead.

Kosmopoulos's mandate covers the Directorate of Metropolitan Infrastructure Management, excluding specific transport sections. He will also be responsible for signing water supply contracts for road irrigation with EYDAP or other bodies, as well as contracts with HEDNO and PPC for street lighting.

We continue as a strong team, with a common vision and goal to improve the daily lives of the residents of the Basin.

Governor Hardalias stated that these appointments are crucial for the remaining two and a half years of their term, emphasizing the need for efficient work. He stressed that the new Deputy Governors join a team of 11 thematic and 8 spatial Deputy Governors, all working towards a common vision to improve the daily lives of Attica's residents and fulfill the region's commitments to its citizens.
