New Bags and School Shoes for Children in Remote Maros

In the remote Dusun Bonto-Bonto village, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, the sound of children's laughter broke the morning quiet as DT Peduli Sulawesi Selatan launched its "Muharram for Orphans and Dhuafa" program. The initiative delivered much-needed school bags and shoes to children from underprivileged families, bringing a ray of hope to the community.

I live in Maros Regency. It's been a long time since I had a proper bag and shoes for school. Even so, I remain enthusiastic about learning and pursuing my dreams.

For siblings Nurul, 8, and Ikhsan, 9, attending school had been a challenge due to their family's financial struggles. As part of a large family, new school supplies like bags and shoes were a luxury they could not afford. They had been making do with worn-out footwear and damaged bags for a long time, yet their determination to learn remained undimmed.

Fergiawan, a program team member from DT Peduli Sulsel, traveled to the village to distribute the aid. The Head of Bonto Somba Village, Suparman, was present to ensure the assistance reached the most deserving children. The distribution was conducted through the "Berbagi Peduli Mustahiq" (Sharing Care for Beneficiaries) program.

Today I am very happy. Alhamdulillah, DT Peduli Sulawesi Selatan provided assistance in the form of new bags and shoes through the Berbagi Peduli Mustahiq Program during the Muharram momentum.

Nurul shared her long-standing need for proper school supplies, expressing her continued enthusiasm for learning and pursuing her dreams despite the limitations. Upon receiving a new pair of black shoes and a sturdy school bag, both Nurul and Ikhsan's faces lit up with happiness, as if a heavy burden had been lifted. They offered heartfelt thanks to DT Peduli Sulawesi Selatan and its donors, praying for abundant blessings in return.
