New BMW X5: It runs on 4 fuels

BMW is redefining its flagship X5 SUV with a fifth-generation model that champions technological diversity. The vehicle will accommodate five distinct energy sources: gasoline, diesel, plug-in hybrid, electric, and hydrogen.

This broad energy strategy is designed to cater to a wide spectrum of user needs and preferences. BMW also aims to bolster the development of hydrogen technology, seeking greater energy independence compared to conventional electric propulsion. The company notes that many components for electric vehicles are currently sourced from Asian countries, with raw materials often originating from Africa, South America, or Australia.

The new X5 adopts a "Neue Klasse" design philosophy, characterized by a monolithic and smooth aesthetic. Inside, the dashboard prioritizes large, advanced screens, integrating artificial intelligence for a comprehensive and connected user experience. BMW has streamlined the manufacturing process for the X5, enabling all its energy variants to be produced on the same assembly line at the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, USA.
