New heatwave arrives in Croatia, but meteorologists warn atmosphere is not yet calm

Croatia is bracing for a new wave of summer heat, though meteorologists caution that atmospheric conditions are not entirely settled.

Following a weekend of rain and thunderstorms in many areas, the start of the week promises calmer weather. Monday is forecast to be predominantly sunny, with only isolated afternoon showers expected in eastern Croatia due to the development of clouds. Meteorologists from HRT note that the atmosphere will remain slightly unstable, but the likelihood of showers is significantly lower than in previous days.

Local thunderstorms may occur, particularly in Slavonia, while the rest of the interior and most of the Adriatic coast will enjoy abundant sunshine. This pattern is typical for summer, with warm air spreading from the Mediterranean. Occasional intrusions of cooler, moister air from the northwest could trigger localized showers inland. Winds will be light, shifting from northwest to west-southwest along the coast. Morning temperatures will range from 15-20°C inland and 21-25°C along the coast. Daytime highs are predicted to be between 29-33°C.
