New High Commissioner Appointed to UK

Muhammad Abdul Muhith will serve as Bangladesh's next high commissioner to the United Kingdom, following his appointment by the government. The public administration ministry officially announced his two-year contractual role through a gazette notification on August 24.

A seasoned diplomat, Muhith brings more than three decades of international experience to the position. His career has included postings in key global cities such as New York, Vienna, Washington D.C., and various capitals across the Middle East and Europe.

Muhith's diplomatic focus has centered on United Nations governance, sustainable development, peacebuilding, and institutional reform. He possesses extensive expertise in multilateral diplomacy and has been involved in numerous international negotiations. Previously, he held the significant role of Bangladesh's ambassador and permanent representative to the UN in New York.
