New party formation: Elected CHP Samsun chairman joins Özgür Özel

Mehmet Özdağ, the elected Provincial Chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP) in Samsun, has announced his departure to join the new party being formed by Özgür Özel. The move follows a confrontation at the provincial headquarters where Özdağ, elected by delegates, faced off against Mehmet Pank, who was appointed by the party leadership.

As they departed the CHP provincial building, Özdağ declared they carried with them a "great legacy" – the six principles of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: Republicanism, Nationalism, Populism, Statism, Secularism, and Revolutionism. He emphasized these principles as their identity and compass, along with their "hope for power."
