New Taipei Kings Sign Forward Hsiao Shun-yi, Praised for Defense

The New Taipei Kings have officially announced the signing of forward Hsiao Shun-yi, who will join the team for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The team anticipates that Hsiao's strong defensive capabilities and relentless effort will significantly bolster their lineup as they aim for higher goals in the new season.

Hsiao, 33, brings a wealth of professional experience to the Kings. Having played college basketball at the National Taiwan University of Arts in New Taipei City, he began his professional career in the SBL with teams like Pauian Archiland and Fubon Braves. He became a foundational player for the Hsinchu Lioneers upon their establishment in 2020, earning a spot in the PLG's All-Defensive First Team in the 2022-23 season due to his intense defense and consistent performance, solidifying his reputation as a top defender.
