New Taipei launches ‘Becoming an Adult’ workshops with singer LÜ YUN and host Bao Jian

New Taipei is turning its youth events into a classroom of sorts, with singers, YouTubers, hosts and other creators invited to talk with students about growing up and choosing a future.

The city’s Education Department and New Taipei City Culture Foundation will launch the “Becoming an Adult” workshop series on Sept. 6. Organizers have planned four sessions in New Taipei and one in Kaohsiung, all free and open to young people nationwide.

The first event will take place at 2 p.m. on Sept. 6 in Room 507 of New Taipei City Hall. Singer-songwriter LÜ YUN, who ranked first in the 2026 high school popularity singer poll, will discuss creative work and personal development under the theme “Becoming the Ideal Adult in Your Own Time Zone.” Bao Jian will host the session.

Other invited speakers include YouTubers Bao Jian and Ling A-Lu Louis, Golden Bell host Patrick, Mango Jump lead singer George Kuo and Hsu Wei-fang. The organizers said the speakers would share how they turned personal interests into professional work across music, social media, hosting and creative fields.

The program will later visit New Taipei Senior High School, Zhangshu International Experimental High School and Shuangxi High School. Education officials said the workshops extend the spirit of the 2026 Becoming an Adult High School Festival by bringing its youth and cultural resources into schools. Registration is now open through the city’s promotional social-media channels.
