New Taipei Teenager Critically Injured After Falling From Fifth Floor

A 15-year-old girl in New Taipei City is in critical condition after falling from the fifth floor of her apartment building on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred in the Shulin District, and the loud impact of her fall alerted neighbors, who then called emergency services.

The student, who was preparing to enter high school, landed on a canopy before hitting the ground. This impact appears to have cushioned her fall to some extent, but she suffered severe injuries, including a fractured rib and disorientation. She was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

Initial police investigations at the scene on the fifth-floor roof revealed no signs of a struggle or any unusual external trauma on the student, apart from injuries consistent with a fall. Authorities have stated that they are currently ruling out any external involvement in the incident.

Due to her condition, the student has not yet been able to provide a statement to the police. Investigators are continuing to work to determine the exact cause of the fall.
