Newborn baby girl fatally stabbed in Malaysia, police confirm

Johor Bahru, Malaysia: Police have confirmed that a newborn baby girl died from multiple stab wounds to her chest in Taman Setia Mutiara, Kluang. The victim was the infant daughter of a 19-year-old college student.

According to Johor Police Chief Datuk Ab. Rahaman Arsad, forensic pathology reports confirmed the cause of death. Police have seized a 24-centimeter knife and clothing bearing bloodstains as evidence. The baby was discovered in the main bedroom's toilet bowl.

The discovery was made by a teacher who visited the suspect's residence after being informed that the woman had given birth. During a medical examination at the hospital, it was revealed that the student had recently given birth and was also pregnant with another child.

Further investigations revealed that both pregnancies resulted from a relationship with her 19-year-old boyfriend. The boyfriend was arrested late Tuesday night in the Kluang area to assist with the investigation. The student is currently hospitalized after delivering another baby girl.

Ab. Rahaman stated that the male suspect had given the student RM450 to procure an abortion. The boyfriend has been remanded for seven days as the investigation proceeds under Sections 302 and 315 of the Penal Code, pertaining to murder and causing a child to be born dead or causing the death of a child before or during its birth.
