NFF auctions World Cup items for fire victims in Krokstadelva

The Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) is organizing an auction of national team memorabilia to raise funds for individuals impacted by a devastating fire in Krokstadelva. The initiative aims to provide support and bring some relief to those facing hardship.

Among the items up for bid are signed jerseys, boots worn by national team players, and goalkeeper Ørjan H. Nyland's gloves. A framed picture of the men's national team, a piece estimated to be worth 100,000 kroner, is also part of the collection. These items represent significant pieces of Norwegian football history and are being offered for a charitable cause.

The auction is scheduled to commence at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, and will continue for 24 hours. Football president Lise Klaveness expressed empathy for the fire victims, stating, "It is impossible to fully grasp the demanding situation the affected are now in – and it will be demanding for a long time to come. Our hope is nevertheless that the proceeds from the World Cup auction can eventually contribute to some joy and ease in everyday life."

General Secretary Karl-Petter Løken confirmed that all proceeds will be directed towards support measures for the fire-affected community. The local municipality of Drammen will collaborate in assessing how the funds can be most effectively utilized to assist those in need. This effort underscores the solidarity within the Norwegian sporting community.
