NGF congratulates Gov Adeleke on re-election

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has extended congratulations to Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on his re-election, securing a second four-year term. The chairman of the NGF, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, conveyed the felicitations in a statement issued Sunday, also expressing wishes for a successful tenure.

The forum further commended the residents of Osun State for their significant turnout during the election, viewing it as a testament to the resilience of Nigerian democracy. The statement also highlighted the crucial role played by opposition parties in shaping the democratic process and commended all candidates for their participation.

The Forum similarly commends the people of the state for the large turnouts during the election. We believe that the interest that the off-cycle ballot generated again confirms the resilience of the Nigerian democracy.

Additionally, the NGF lauded the security agencies for their efforts in curbing initial violence in the days leading up to the election, thereby ensuring a secure environment for the exercise. The forum also recognized the "statesmanlike role" played by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting his balanced approach as both the leader of the ruling party and the father of the nation.
