Nicaragua's Navy rescues eight Venezuelans shipwrecked in the Caribbean Sea

The Naval Force of Nicaragua's Army successfully rescued eight Venezuelan fishermen who were found adrift in the Caribbean Sea. The group had been stranded since Monday after their Venezuelan-flagged fishing vessel, the 'Don Cipriano,' suffered electrical system issues and mechanical failures in its engine.

According to a report from the Naval Force, the fishermen were located and rescued approximately 45 nautical miles east of the Cayos Miskitos, within Nicaragua's North Caribbean Autonomous Region.

The rescued individuals have been identified as Matías José Marcano Marcano, 74; Fredy Fernando Almario Parra, 57; Juan Francisco González Castillo, 56; Jesús Florentino Mojica Ramos, 51; Luis Daniel Suarez García, 36; Fernando Eliezer Almirio Aguilar, 35; Josué David González Morales, 33; and Ángel Manuel Antes González, 21. All are Venezuelan nationals.

Following their rescue, the fishermen were transported to Bilwi, also known as Puerto Cabezas, the main city in the north Caribbean region. There, they received initial medical care before being transferred to the custody of the appropriate authorities.
