Nico Brussino returns to Zaragoza: “I think we have a great team”

Nico Brussino is beginning a second spell at Casademont Zaragoza convinced that the team has the talent to compete. “I think we have a great team,” the Argentine forward said at his presentation.

Brussino previously played for Zaragoza from 2019 to 2021. He said he greatly enjoyed his earlier time at the club and praised its ambition to keep improving. This season’s squad, he said, has many strong players, plenty of talent and considerable offensive power.

He acknowledged that it was still too early to set firm goals, but said the team could aim for a place in international competition if its pieces fit together. “If the pieces fit together well, I think we can compete,” he said.

After five years away, Brussino said he has returned with more experience and a better knowledge of the Spanish league. He also said he feels physically well. Coach Gonzalo García de Vitoria has asked him to bring his game and contribute as much as possible.

Brussino will also reunite with Caleb Homesley, his former teammate at Dreamland Gran Canaria. He described Homesley as intelligent and talented, adding that they understand each other on the court. “I think I am a team player, and if the team does well, I will probably do well too,” Brussino said.
