Nigeria's ADC Youths Vow 30 Million Votes, Warn Against Poll Rigging in 2027

Youth leaders of Nigeria's African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the South-South region have issued a strong warning against any attempts to manipulate the upcoming 2027 elections. They pledged to mobilize 30 million votes for the party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, vowing to ensure the polls are free, fair, and credible.

The summit resolved to embark on aggressive mobilisation aimed at securing a strong electoral outing for the party in the region.

The commitment was solidified during a two-day strategic leadership summit in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The national youth leader, Hon. Uloho Obaro, stated that the summit resolved to undertake aggressive grassroots mobilization to secure a strong electoral performance for the ADC in the region. She emphasized the youth wing's target of 30 million votes and warned that the party would resist any actions undermining the democratic process or imposing electoral outcomes against voters' wishes.

Comrade Omiete Yellowe, the Rivers State ADC Youth Leader, who hosted the summit, commended the national leadership for endorsing Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, former Governor of Rivers State, as the vice-presidential candidate. Yellowe believes Amaechi's selection will inspire greater voter participation, particularly among Rivers youths. He highlighted Amaechi's past gubernatorial achievements, noting his policies and projects significantly contributed to the state's development.

ADC youth leaders from Cross River and Delta states, Comrade Anase Michael and Mr. Ukwanewe Godstime, respectively, described the 2027 presidential election as a crucial undertaking for the South-South region. They noted that increased youth involvement in the party's National Working Committee has further motivated young members to mobilize support ahead of the elections.
