Nigeria's APM Launches 2027 Campaign with Makinde-Daura Presidential Ticket

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has officially kicked off its campaign for the 2027 general elections, unveiling a presidential ticket featuring Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Alhaji Lawal Daura. The party announced its candidates during its National Elective Convention in Bauchi on Thursday.

At the same convention, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, was inaugurated as the APM's National Leader. He pledged to reshape the party into an inclusive national political platform with a strong grassroots presence, endorsing the Makinde-Daura ticket as a combination of administrative experience and security expertise capable of tackling Nigeria's pressing challenges.

Makinde addressed delegates, emphasizing the need for a credible political alternative in Nigeria that can provide practical solutions. Makinde also reiterated his support for restructuring Nigeria's federal system, advocating for the devolution of more powers to state governments. The APM's newly elected National Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, stated the party's focus is on expanding its support base nationwide, with the ultimate goal of winning the election and providing effective governance.
