Nigeria's Persons with Disabilities Advocate for Inclusive Voting and Greater Opportunities

Individuals with Disabilities (PWDs) are calling on Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to enhance voting accessibility, aiming for more inclusive and convenient electoral processes nationwide. Mrs. Justina Obozokhai, who uses a wheelchair, successfully cast her vote at Ilare III, Ward III, Unit 011, in Ife Central Local Government Area of Osun State during the recent election.

Obozokhai stressed the significance of civic participation, stating that her decision to vote stemmed from her education and understanding of the democratic process. She highlighted that people with disabilities deserve increased employment opportunities and recognition within their communities. Obozokhai emphasized that their education, abilities, and willingness to contribute are valuable assets for national development.
