Nigerian Bishop Urges Unity, Support for Security Forces, and Positive National Contribution

Bishop Dr. John Ibenu of the Chapel of Freedom International Churches has called on Nigerians to foster hope and actively contribute to national development, urging a shift away from dwelling on the nation's difficulties and systemic blame.

Ibenu, a former Kogi State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairman, highlighted his ministry's ongoing dedication to improving the welfare of the populace. This commitment is demonstrated through initiatives such as providing quality and affordable education, offering scholarship programs, undertaking road maintenance projects, delivering free medical services, and distributing essential items like food and clothing to vulnerable members of society. He emphasized that these humanitarian interventions aim to underscore the principle that development should not rest solely on the government's shoulders.

The bishop cited the ministry's recently concluded "Food for Everyone" program as a prime example of their efforts to alleviate hardship and support needy families. Ibenu expressed optimism that security personnel would receive additional resources, equipment, and support to bolster their effectiveness in safeguarding lives and property.

This session will emphasize raising a younger generation that embraces positive values, highlighting the importance of strong family structures and parental guidance.
