Nigerian Law School Confirms Student's Death at Lagos Hostel

The Nigerian Law School has confirmed the tragic death of a student from its Enugu Campus who was in Lagos for an externship program. The student, who was temporarily residing at the Lagos Campus hostel, died after falling from the rooftop of the building early Friday morning, August 7, 2026.

According to a statement released on Monday by Aderonke Osho, Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration, the incident occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. The Law School expressed deep regret over the incident, confirming the student succumbed to injuries sustained from the fall.

The Management of the Nigerian Law School regrets to confirm the tragic incident involving a student of the Nigerian Law School, Enugu Campus, who was undergoing the externship programme in Lagos and was temporarily accommodated at the Lagos Campus hostel for the duration of the programme.

Management stated that they are actively working with relevant authorities and the deceased student's family to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the event. They assured that all necessary procedures would be followed and that further information would be provided as appropriate.

The institution extended its heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues, and all those affected by this unfortunate loss. They emphasized their shared grief during this difficult time and appealed to the public and media to respect the family's request for privacy as they mourn.
