Nigerian professor emerges Rwanda’s top business, management researcher

Professor Ogechi Adeola, a Nigerian academic, has been honored as Rwanda's leading researcher in Business and Management by the 2026 AD Scientific Index. This recognition places her among the Top 10 Scientists in Rwanda, underscoring her substantial contributions to scholarly impact.

Adeola, who serves as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Enterprise) at the University of Kigali, received this accolade for her consistent dedication to advancing knowledge. This achievement follows her earlier inclusion in the Stanford–Elsevier World’s Top 2% Scientists list in 2025, further solidifying her reputation for research excellence.

The University of Kigali highlighted Adeola's sustained commitment to research, innovation, and academic leadership. "Professor Adeola’s achievements exemplify the transformative role of research, innovation and academic leadership in advancing knowledge and addressing societal challenges," the university stated. Her work is noted for enhancing the institution's global visibility and contributing significantly to scholarship within Rwanda, across Africa, and internationally.

The AD Scientific Index assesses the scientific performance and influence of over 2.6 million researchers globally. The University of Kigali congratulated Professor Adeola on this milestone, recognizing her outstanding representation of the institution on both national and international stages.
