NiMet predicts three days of cloudiness, thunderstorms nationwide

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) forecasts widespread cloudiness and thunderstorms across Nigeria from Wednesday to Friday. Residents should prepare for varying levels of rainfall throughout the week.

In the northern regions, morning thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall are expected over states like Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, Zamfara, Gombe, Bauchi, Taraba, and Adamawa. By afternoon or evening, thunderstorms with moderate rains are also anticipated over Kaduna and most of the North-East.

The North-Central region will experience cloudy skies with chances of thunderstorms and light rains in the morning, particularly over the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, and Nasarawa. Later in the day, thunderstorms with moderate rains are predicted for parts of Benue, Kogi, the FCT, Kwara, Niger, Nasarawa, and Plateau.

Southern Nigeria is expected to see cloudy skies with prospects of light rains in the South-South region during the morning hours. Moderate rainfall is forecast for parts of Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, and the South-East and South-South regions later in the day. These conditions are expected to persist through Thursday and Friday, with NiMet advising the public to stay informed about weather updates.
