Nine Illegal Structures Demolished in West Jakarta

Joint security forces dismantled nine illegal structures in Kalideres, West Jakarta, on Thursday. The structures, including two semi-permanent buildings and seven vehicle parking lots, occupied 3,700 square meters of land owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

The operation, conducted on Jalan Permata Taman Palem in Pegadungan village, involved approximately 50 personnel from the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Sub-Department of Transportation, the Sub-Department of Environmental Affairs, Public Facility and Infrastructure Handling (PPSU), and elements of the TNI-Polri.

After the demolition, we, along with the sub-district, will submit a request to the DKI Jakarta Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD) for fencing.

The action is part of efforts to organize and secure regional assets to prevent illegal use. Following the demolition, Sasono said coordination with relevant agencies would occur to prevent the land from being reoccupied. "After the demolition, we, along with the sub-district, will submit a request to the DKI Jakarta Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD) for fencing," he added. This fencing is considered crucial to establish clear physical boundaries for the government-owned land.

Anugerah Sholiha Susilo, Head of Pegadungan village, confirmed that all procedures were followed before the demolition. This included socialization and the issuance of warning letters (SP 1 to SP 3) and a notice of eviction. "Previously, we had conducted socialization and issued warning letters, from SP 1 to 3, and an eviction notice," Susilo stated, indicating that the occupants were given time to voluntarily dismantle their structures. The debris from the demolished structures was transported by the West Jakarta Environmental Department's fleet. Local officials will continue to monitor the site to ensure it is not illegally occupied again.
