Nine police officers seconded to Government Inspectorate

Nine People’s Public Security officers, including eight senior-ranking officers and one captain, have been seconded to the Government Inspectorate, according to decisions announced on Sept. 3.

Deputy Inspector General Nguyen Van Cuong chaired a conference announcing the appointments. Eight officers will spend six months advising the inspectorate’s Steering Committee 236, which handles important, strategic and urgent political tasks for the Government Inspectorate and the inspection sector.

The eight are Colonel Nguyen Thi Hoan; Senior Colonels Truong Van Dung, Le Chieu Giang, Pham Duc Ha and Nguyen Cao Cuong; and Lieutenant Colonels Tran Xuan Phuong, Le Xuan Duc and Do Vong Linh. The head of the Government Inspectorate’s Department of Thematic Research will assign their specific duties under the direction of the Inspector General. After the six-month period, they will return to duties at the units assigned by their commanders.

The tasks at the Government Inspectorate require caution, objectivity and a high level of cross-sector coordination.

The conference also announced the fixed-term secondment of Captain Pham Phu Phuc, who works at the Ho Chi Minh City Police Hospital. He will take up duties at Department X of the Government Inspectorate.

Cuong said police officers previously seconded to the inspectorate had integrated well, adapted quickly and contributed positively to its work. He thanked the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang and the officers’ home-unit leaders for supporting the personnel transfer.

He said work at the Government Inspectorate requires caution, objectivity and close coordination across sectors. He urged the officers to study and adapt quickly to the specialized demands of inspection, handling complaints and denunciations, and preventing corruption, waste and misconduct. He also instructed managers to assign duties according to each officer’s abilities, set clear tasks, deadlines and deliverables, and regularly monitor progress.
