Nine trapped in malfunctioning elevator in Yalova rescued by firefighters

Nine individuals were rescued after becoming trapped in a malfunctioning elevator in a building in Yalova, Turkey. The incident occurred in the İsmetpaşa Mahallesi neighborhood.

Upon receiving the alert, Yalova Fire Department teams arrived promptly. They first carefully opened the elevator car door to provide oxygen support to the trapped passengers using an oxygen cylinder. The teams then used portable hydraulic spreading equipment to safely open the elevator door and evacuate the passengers one by one.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. The rescued individuals expressed their gratitude to the firefighters for their successful operation. The Yalova Fire Department issued a reminder for similar situations, advising citizens not to panic. They emphasized the importance of staying calm inside the elevator, not obstructing the ventilation system, and contacting the 112 Emergency Call Center as soon as possible to request professional assistance.
