Nissan's Legendary Fairlady Z Sports Car Debuts in Indonesia

Nissan has officially introduced its legendary Fairlady Z sports car to Indonesia for the first time at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. The arrival of the model, themed "The Art of Movement," signifies Nissan's commitment to the Indonesian automotive market, blending its performance heritage with modern technology.

Masao Tsutsumi, President of Nissan ASEAN and Thailand, highlighted Indonesia as a key market, stating the Fairlady Z launch reflects Nissan's confidence in the national automotive industry's prospects. "Indonesia is one of Nissan's main markets in the ASEAN region. The presence of the Fairlady Z today reflects our confidence in Indonesia's future and is proof of Nissan's long-term commitment to continue growing with the market and customers in this country," Tsutsumi said.

The Fairlady Z, first introduced in 1969, retains its distinctive long hood and compact rear design, enhanced with modern aerodynamics. It is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine delivering 400 hp and 475 Nm of torque, with options for a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic transmission. Its driving capabilities are supported by Rear-Wheel Drive, a Mechanical Limited Slip Differential (LSD), and refined suspension for precise handling. The interior features a driver-oriented cockpit combined with modern amenities.

Alongside the Fairlady Z, Nissan is showcasing its electrification strategy with Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and e-POWER technology. The e-POWER system offers an electric vehicle driving sensation without external charging, deemed suitable for Indonesia's transitional market towards electrification. "Through GIIAS 2026, we are proud to display a lineup that reflects Nissan's broad capabilities, from the legendary Fairlady Z as a symbol of Nissan's spirit in delivering driving pleasure, to electrification technologies representing our vision for future mobility," stated Evensius Go, President Director of PT Nissan Motor Distributor Indonesia. The exhibition also features the Serena e-POWER for families, the X-Trail e-POWER with e-4ORCE technology for electrified SUVs, the Terra for premium SUV needs, and the Navara in the commercial vehicle segment.
