No Brain Thanks BTS’s RM: “He Knows Music”

No Brain singer Lee Sung-woo used a television appearance to thank BTS leader RM for recognizing the band’s music and to suggest a collaboration.

Lee and fellow member Hwang Hyun-sung appeared on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” on Sept. 2, marking 30 years since No Brain formed. Host Yoo Jae-suk also recalled performing with Lee at the “Infinite Challenge” music festival around 17 years ago.

Yoo then brought up RM’s recent overseas interview, where the BTS member recommended No Brain as a Korean artist with “incredible raw energy.” Lee said a BTS fan first told him about the comment. He initially doubted that RM had mentioned the band, then watched the interview himself.

Lee said he was surprised and pleased to hear No Brain named. He particularly enjoyed RM’s comment that the band’s name immediately gives listeners a certain impression. Hwang added that RM’s pronunciation of the name made him feel proud.

Lee thanked RM and said, “I thought, ‘You really know music.’” He then extended an invitation tied to the band’s anniversary: “We’re celebrating our 30th anniversary. Shall we make some art together? Please get in touch.”
