No problem between Makinde, Olubadan, say Ibadan elders

Tensions in Ibadanland, particularly concerning the relationship between Governor Seyi Makinde and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, have been addressed by a council of elders who have stepped in to mediate. Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, the Balogun of Ibadanland, announced on Friday that elders have intervened to quell rising fears and prevent any escalation of perceived conflict. "I want to allay the fears of our people in Ibadanland that there is no problem between Governor Seyi Makinde and His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja," Oba Ajibola stated, emphasizing the elders' commitment to maintaining peace in Ibadan. This intervention comes in the wake of public statements by former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, who alleged a plot by Governor Makinde to depose Oba Ladoja. Fayose's claims, disseminated on social media, suggested that recent criticisms leveled against the monarch were a prelude to disciplinary action. Both the Oyo State government and the Olubadan's palace have consistently denied these allegations, labeling them as unfounded rumors.
