No Vietnamese Casualties Reported in Japan Earthquake

Vietnamese citizens in Japan have not suffered any casualties following a powerful magnitude 7 earthquake that struck Kumamoto prefecture. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that as of now, there are no reports of injuries or deaths among Vietnamese nationals.

The earthquake occurred around 4:27 PM on July 28, causing damage to property and infrastructure in the affected areas. Eyewitness accounts and images showed a factory chimney collapsing in Kumamoto.

Immediately after the tremor, Vietnamese representative agencies in Japan initiated contact with local authorities in Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Oita, and Miyazaki. They also reached out to Vietnamese community associations in the impacted regions to assess the situation and prepare for any necessary consular assistance.

These agencies have conveyed messages of solidarity and urged Vietnamese residents, particularly in Kumamoto's Uki city and Hikawa town, the epicenter, to remain calm and follow local government instructions for evacuation from dangerous zones. Continuous communication with local authorities is being maintained to address any issues concerning Vietnamese citizens.
