Non-compliant fuel station identified during joint inspection campaign in Al Dakhiliyah

Consumer protection authorities in Oman's Al Dakhiliyah governorate have taken legal action against a fuel station found to be in violation of approved standards. The discovery was made during a joint inspection campaign conducted by the Consumer Protection Department and the Directorate General of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

During the inspection, officials identified that several fuel dispensing pumps at the station failed to comply with essential metrological requirements and approved standards. The campaign aimed to ensure adherence to the Consumer Protection Law, its executive regulations, and technical specifications.

The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has stated that legal proceedings are underway against the offending station, in accordance with applicable laws. The CPA emphasized its ongoing commitment to robust market oversight, working collaboratively with relevant authorities to protect consumer rights, enhance service quality, and maintain a secure and well-regulated marketplace for all.
