North Sulawesi Police Chief Bids Farewell After Promotion to National Operations Post

Inspector General Roycke Harry Langie used his final assembly as North Sulawesi’s police chief to thank the personnel who worked alongside him during nearly two years in the province.

At the assembly in Manado on Tuesday, Langie said his tenure lasted one year, 11 months and five days. He described the occasion as likely his last assembly with the officers and expressed his gratitude for their dedication.

Langie said the province’s achievements and orderly conditions resulted from collective effort. “We have worked together, struggled together, and shared aspirations together,” he said, presenting those three ideas as the meaning of his service in North Sulawesi.

He also urged officers to protect harmony, solidarity and pride in the Indonesian National Police. “There is no success without togetherness and maintaining ties,” Langie said, calling on personnel to preserve the institution’s dignity and continue doing their best for the police force.

Langie said his transfer should not be viewed as a separation, but as a move to a different field of duty. He apologized for shortcomings during his leadership and asked for prayers as he begins his new assignment at national police headquarters.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has appointed Brigadier General Yudo Hermanto as the new North Sulawesi police chief. Hermanto previously served as head of the Internal Security Bureau at the police’s Professional and Security Division. Langie has been promoted to chief operations assistant, replacing Commissioner General Mohammad Fadil Imran, who has been transferred to a senior staff position pending retirement.
