Norway Come from Behind to Draw with Morocco in World Cup Warm-up

Norway captain Martin Odegaard scored in the 75th minute to salvage a 1-1 draw against Morocco in a World Cup warm-up match on Sunday. The equalizer came after Morocco had taken an early lead through a spectacular strike from Brahim Diaz in the seventh minute.

Diaz unleashed a thunderous shot from the edge of the penalty area to put Morocco ahead. Despite the early setback, Norway fought back and applied sustained pressure, particularly towards the end of the game. Kristian Thorstvedt came close to securing a victory for Norway with a header that narrowly missed the target nine minutes from time.

Odegaard's leveling goal was a well-taken finish with his left foot, set up by a skillful run and pass from Oscar Bobb inside the penalty area. Morocco had started the match strongly, and Diaz's goal was his first for the national team since the Africa Cup of Nations earlier in the year. Teammate Abdessamad Ezzalzouli also had a chance to extend Morocco's lead before halftime, but his volley went wide.

Morocco had been ahead from the seventh minute when Brahim Diaz thundered home a shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Morocco had another opportunity in the 57th minute when Diaz's shot was saved by Norway's goalkeeper Orjan Nyland, but Neil El Aynaoui headed the rebound over the bar. The North Africans were forced to defend resolutely in the closing stages to prevent Norway from snatching a win.

Morocco will begin their World Cup campaign in Group C against Brazil on Saturday in New York. Norway's first match in Group I is scheduled for June 16 against Iraq in Boston.
