Norway Public Services Struggle with Ongoing Cyberattack Disruptions

Norway's public services continue to face disruptions after a significant cyberattack on Monday, though the situation saw some improvement overnight. The Digitalization Directorate (Digdir) stated that measures taken to reverse the negative impacts of the attack have partially restored services.

Digdir reported just before midnight that the situation had returned to a level comparable to Monday evening. While many users can now access services, a considerable number are still encountering problems. The directorate cautioned that the cyberattacks are ongoing, meaning limitations are likely to persist throughout the night.

Some measures that worsened the situation for our solutions have been reversed.

The cyber incidents first began early Monday morning. Initially, Digdir identified the attack as a denial-of-service (DoS) attack and believed they were gaining control. However, the situation deteriorated later Monday evening, before the partial recovery overnight. At least ten services, including critical platforms like ID-porten, MinID, Altinn, and E-innsyn, have been affected by the ongoing disruptions.

The attacks are still ongoing, so we are entering the night with the limitations that have been in place for most of today.
