Not a Gimmick, We Are Engaged According to Syarak: Ikhmal Nour

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and influencer Ikhmal Nour has addressed speculation surrounding his relationship with fellow influencer Hazan, firmly stating that their union is not a mere social media gimmick. Speaking to Utusan Malaysia, Ikhmal clarified that they are officially engaged according to Islamic law (syarak).

Sejujurnya, Iqmal sendiri kurang faham kenapa orang mempertikaikan perkara itu. Sebenarnya, dari segi syarak, kami memang sudah bertunang.

"Honestly, Ikhmal doesn't quite understand why people question it. From the perspective of syarak, we are indeed engaged," he explained. While acknowledging that traditional Malay customs such as 'merisik' (a formal pre-engagement visit) and official family meetings have not been fully observed, Ikhmal emphasized that both sets of parents have met. "Simply put, our relationship is heading in a serious direction. Alhamdulillah, sometimes people think it's just a gimmick or content, but it's not. Our relationship is genuinely serious," he asserted.

Ikhmal attributed their limited joint appearances to demanding work commitments and a mutual understanding of their respective careers. "She is very busy with her work now, including family matters and her YouTube team. There are constraints that prevent us from appearing together in the same frame often. Ikhmal respects her work, and she respects my work. So, we understand each other very well," he shared.

Mudah kata, hubungan kami memang ke arah yang serius. Alhamdulillah, kadang-kadang orang fikir itu hanya gimik atau sekadar content sahaja, tetapi tidak. Hubungan kami memang serius.

Looking ahead, Ikhmal expressed optimism about progressing to the next stage of their relationship, though he stressed that timing is in God's hands. "Insya-Allah, not long from now. We cannot set an exact time because we can only plan, but Allah determines," he said, requesting prayers from their fans for a smooth journey.

Ikhmal also shared his personal admiration for Hazan, describing her as a mature and rational individual. He noted her logical approach to decision-making, contrasting it with his own tendency to be more trusting. "She is very logical. Hazan thinks rationally. Unlike Ikhmal, who sometimes trusts people easily. If someone says something, Ikhmal believes it easily. But she is very different, more meticulous, more cautious, and very logical in making decisions. That's one of the things Ikhmal greatly respects about her," he explained.
