NUC approves 24 new courses for Kwara varsity

Kwara State University (KWASU) is set to expand its academic offerings with the approval of 24 new programs by the National Universities Commission (NUC). These new courses, comprising 14 undergraduate and 10 postgraduate programs, are scheduled to commence from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The approved undergraduate programs include Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Surveying and Geoinformatics, Nursing Science, and various Education degrees such as Educational Technology, Guidance and Counselling, Health Education, and Entrepreneurship Education. Other undergraduate additions are Insurance and Risk Management, Technology Education, Community Health Science, and engineering disciplines like Computer Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering.

At the postgraduate level, the NUC has sanctioned programs in Fine and Applied Arts (M.A. and Ph.D.), Performing Arts (M.A. and Ph.D.), Linguistics (M.A.), and Food Science and Technology (M. Tech and Ph.D.). Additionally, Ph.D. programs in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Public Administration, and Mass Communication have been approved.
