Nvidia forms AI alliances with SK Hynix, Naver, and Doosan in South Korea

Nvidia is accelerating the expansion of its artificial intelligence data center capabilities through strategic partnerships in South Korea. During a visit by CEO Jensen Huang to Seoul, the US chip giant announced new collaborations with key South Korean companies, including SK Hynix, Naver, and Doosan.

A significant development is a multi-year technology partnership with SK Hynix, focused on next-generation memory chips. This collaboration is designed to ensure a stable supply of advanced memory components and unlock new avenues for AI applications. Furthermore, SK Telecom, an affiliate of SK Hynix, plans to establish a gigawatt-scale AI cloud with its first data center operational by 2027.

Internet conglomerate Naver and diversified industrial group Doosan are also joining forces with Nvidia. Both companies intend to leverage Nvidia's cutting-edge technology to build and enhance their own AI data centers. Doosan, which already manufactures materials for Nvidia's Blackwell chips, anticipates the integration of its energy solutions within Nvidia's operations and plans to utilize Nvidia's physical AI technology.

While financial details of these agreements were not disclosed, the partnerships underscore Nvidia's commitment to strengthening its global AI infrastructure. By collaborating with leading South Korean technology firms, Nvidia aims to bolster its supply chain, drive innovation in AI hardware and software, and support the growing demand for AI computing power worldwide.
