Bangladesh is commemorating the 42nd death anniversary of Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan, who previously served as the chief of naval staff and held ministerial positions in communications and agriculture. The Bangladesh Navy has organized various programs to honor his memory.

These events include laying wreaths at his grave near the Naval Headquarters, reciting from the Holy Quran, and holding special prayers. A press release indicated that food will also be distributed among underprivileged people. Additional Quran recitations and prayer sessions are planned at Mahbub Bhaban, the headquarters of Surovi, a philanthropic organization founded by Begum Mahbub Ali Khan in 1979. These activities will extend to mosques, madrasas, and orphanages across Dhaka, Sylhet, Bogura, and Jamalpur.

In remembrance of Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan, programs featuring Quran recitations, special prayers, and remembrance meetings are also scheduled internationally. These events will take place in Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Malaysia, China, South Korea, Singapore, and the Maldives. Charitable activities are also part of the observance in these countries.
