A former upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) in Kalapara, Patuakhali, has faced disciplinary action for negligence and misconduct in allocating government land. Abu Hasnat Mohammad Shahidul Haq, who also served as an assistant commissioner (land), will have his salary increment suspended for one year.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification detailing the reprimand. The action stems from Shahidul Haq's involvement in signing 42 fake proposals for government land without proper verification. This mismanagement affected 71.63 acres of land, resulting in a loss to the government.

His actions were deemed misconduct under the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018, leading to a departmental case filed in 2025. The notification highlighted that signing documents with inconsistencies and erasures demonstrated his failure to perform administrative duties diligently. The allegations were proven, leading to the suspension of his salary increment.
