A pickup van overturned early today in the Manikchhari area of Rangamati district, Bangladesh, resulting in four fatalities and two injuries. The deceased have been identified as Meghrani Chakma, 45, Shobha Chakma, 52, Shantana Chakma, 38, and Shanti Ranjan Chakma, 65. The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. as the group was heading to Kutukchhari Bazar to sell goods at a weekly market. Locals reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal crash.

The injured, identified as pickup driver Gyan Bikash Chakma, 50, and Suman Chakma, 45, are currently receiving treatment at Rangamati General Hospital. Doctors confirmed that three bodies were brought to the hospital following the incident. One of the injured individuals was referred to Chattogram for advanced medical care.

Rangamati Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Jasim Uddin stated that three individuals died at the scene, while the fourth succumbed to their injuries on the way to Chattogram. The bodies are being held at the morgue of Rangamati General Hospital pending an autopsy.
