A man facing multiple criminal charges was brutally killed by unidentified assailants in Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore early today. The victim, identified as Riyaz Hossain, 29, was attacked around 1:30 a.m. at the playground of Dhalirgati Government Primary School. Assailants reportedly beat and hacked him with sharp weapons before fleeing the scene.

He had severe injuries on his head and different parts of his body. Excessive bleeding is believed to have caused his death.

Police were informed and rushed to the spot. Riyaz was taken to the Abhaynagar Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead. A medical officer at the complex stated that Riyaz had severe injuries to his head and body, and excessive bleeding was believed to be the cause of death.

Police have completed the inquest report and were preparing to send the body to Jashore General Hospital morgue for an autopsy when the report was filed.

According to police and local residents, Riyaz was known for his alleged involvement in criminal activities, including robbery, mugging, and drug offenses. Law enforcement has launched an operation to find and apprehend the perpetrators. The body was sent for an autopsy, and legal proceedings are underway.
