Authorities in Bogura, Bangladesh, have arrested four individuals in connection with the death of a six-year-old girl, Rakika Akter Raka, whose body was discovered inside a plastic sack. The child had gone missing on Thursday afternoon while returning home from private tuition.

At around 10:30 pm yesterday, the family received information that Raka's body was found inside a white plastic sack in Amjad Hossain's house in the Sahebpara area of Santahar municipality.

Police recovered Raka's body from the house of her neighbor, Amjad Hossain, late Thursday night. Hossain, his wife Mosammat Bonna, their friend Md Babu, and Babu's wife Asha have been taken into custody. According to the victim's father, Md Raihan Uddin Pramanik, Raka left her home around 4:30 p.m. and never returned, prompting an extensive search by family members.

We primarily suspect that the child was killed for those gold earrings.

During the search, the family received information that Raka's body had been found in Amjad Hossain's residence. Locals apprehended Amjad and Bonna, reportedly beating them before police intervened. Both were admitted to Naogaon Sadar Hospital due to injuries sustained during the public assault.

There is an injury mark on the left side of the victim's head. Furthermore, a rope was wrapped around her neck. She was strangled to death.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (Adamdighi Circle) Md Asif Hossain stated that the child was wearing gold earrings, which were missing when her body was found. "We primarily suspect that the child was killed for those gold earrings," he said. Inspector Shahidul Islam, the investigating officer, added that Raka had an injury mark on her head and a rope mark around her neck, indicating strangulation. The prime suspects are currently hospitalized, preventing immediate interrogation, while Babu has been sent to jail and Asha is awaiting court appearance.
