Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has destroyed narcotics worth Tk 83.78 crore. These drugs were seized during anti-smuggling operations along the Cumilla and Satkhira border areas over the last three years. The destruction took place in separate ceremonies at BGB-10 Cumilla Battalion headquarters and BGB-17 Nildumur Battalion headquarters in Satkhira.

The seized items included a wide range of illicit substances. Among them were liquor, phensedyl, and other intoxicants, yaba pills, cannabis, and heroin. The haul also contained illegal pharmaceutical products, LSD, and 2.4 kilograms of crystal meth, commonly known as ice. These drugs were confiscated during drives conducted by various BGB battalions over the past three years.

Senior officials from district administrations, the judiciary, law enforcement agencies, the Department of Narcotics Control, and Customs were present at the destruction events. The BGB's action highlights its ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and smuggling along the country's borders.
