A man identified as Md Ismail, locally known as 'Pagla Shahjahan,' was fatally shot in Khulna city during the early hours of Friday. The incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. in the South Tutpara Boro Khalpar area.

According to police, the 32-year-old deceased was a known figure in the area, associated with alleged drug trafficking and criminal activities. He faced several police cases, including charges related to assault and murder.

Eyewitness accounts and police reports suggest that unidentified assailants targeted Ismail, firing shots that critically injured him. He was transported to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced him dead due to a bullet wound to the head.

Md Shofiqul Islam, the officer-in-charge of Khulna Sadar Police Station, stated that preliminary investigations indicate the attackers may have shot Ismail in the head before assaulting him with a sharp weapon. Police have secured the crime scene and are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the killing.
