Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) successfully thwarted an alleged attempt by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) to push three people into Bangladesh. The incident occurred early yesterday near the Jibannagar border in Chuadanga, specifically in the Madhabkhali area.

According to the BGB, BSF members from the Meteri Camp of its 32 Battalion attempted to force a man and two women across the border through a gate in India's security fence, close to border pillar No 70/2-S. However, BGB personnel stationed on the Bangladesh side prevented their entry. The three individuals remained in Indian territory, approximately 40 yards from the zero line.

Faced with the BGB's resolute opposition, the BSF personnel eventually opened another gate near border pillar No 68/5-S and escorted the individuals back into India. Munshi Imdadur Rahman, assistant director of Maheshpur 58 BGB Battalion, stated that Bangladesh remains highly vigilant to ensure border security and prevent illegal crossings and push-ins.
