Ukraine launched hundreds of drones at Russia early Tuesday, resulting in five deaths, including a child, and igniting fires in several buildings, according to Russian officials. The attacks also damaged an apartment block and warehouses.

Last night, our long-range sanctions were effective in the Rostov region. An export terminal approximately 250 kilometres (155 miles) from the front line was hit.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that his forces targeted an export terminal in the western Rostov region. He also stated that oil facilities in the Yaroslavl and Udmurtia regions, located far from the front lines, were struck. "Last night, our long-range sanctions were effective in the Rostov region. An export terminal approximately 250 kilometres (155 miles) from the front line was hit," Zelensky said in a Facebook post. He added, "Deep strikes also targeted oil facilities in the Yaroslavl region and the Udmurt Republic, which is 1,300 kilometres from Ukraine’s state border."

The five individuals killed were in Russia's Rostov region, bordering Ukraine. Among the deceased were a married couple and a child. Regional governor Yuri Slyusar mentioned that the attack damaged multiple buildings, including a homeless shelter.

Meanwhile, Russian drone attacks on port infrastructure in Ukraine’s southern Mykolaiv region on Tuesday and Sunday resulted in one death and damage to three civilian vessels. Acting Regional Governor Heorhii Reshetilov reported the fatality via the Telegram messaging app. Ukraine's seaports authority stated the damaged vessels had been blockaded since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022 and were not engaged in commercial voyages. Russia's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova indicated Russia is open to considering new proposals for the Ukraine peace process.
