The National Citizen Party (NCP) has halted further stages of its "July March" campaign in Moulvibazar's Rajnagar and Kulaura. This decision follows an alleged attack on a convoy carrying senior party leaders in Habiganj the previous afternoon. The party stated it will instead hold a procession and rally in Habiganj town.

A convoy carrying Nasiruddin and Sarjis was attacked, leaving at least 15 NCP leaders, activists and journalists injured, according to the party.

According to NCP Central Joint Member Secretary Pritam Das, the convoy carrying leaders like Nahid Islam, Nasiruddin Patwary, Sarjis Alam, and Hasnat Abdullah was attacked after an NCP procession in Habiganj town. The party claims at least 15 individuals, including party leaders, activists, and journalists, sustained injuries. Pritam alleged that a vehicle carrying the party's media team was vandalized, and journalists' phones and cameras were confiscated.

The NCP has pointed fingers at local Chhatra Dal activists, the student wing of the BNP, for orchestrating the assault. Nasiruddin, in a Facebook post, echoed this accusation, stating that Habiganj Chhatra Dal members were responsible and that police and Rab personnel failed to intervene. He also addressed BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, accusing him of employing "criminals" to maintain power.

The NCP alleged that local Chhatra Dal activists were behind the attack.

However, Shah Rajib Ahmed Ringon, President of Moulvibazar District Chhatra Dal, has vehemently denied any involvement by his party's activists. Ringon stated that Chhatra Dal leaders and activists were not involved in the incident. He suggested that if individuals made offensive remarks upon arriving in Habiganj and attempted to create unrest, they should be held responsible for the consequences. Ringon mentioned learning about the incident and characterized it as some "enraged individuals" chasing someone after offensive remarks were made.
