Oborevwori swears in two commissioners, charges appointees on integrity

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has administered the oath of office to two new commissioners, a member of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Governing Board, and three members of the Delta State Judicial Service Commission. The governor urged the appointees to justify the confidence placed in them through dedicated service and to contribute meaningfully to the state's growth.

During the swearing-in ceremony at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, Oborevwori stated that the appointments were based on competence, fairness, and integrity. He affirmed that his administration would continue to appoint qualified individuals capable of advancing its development agenda. The newly inaugurated commissioners are Brave Enodeh and Ogodo Moses, while Cosmas Igbenije was sworn in as a member of the DESOPADEC Governing Board.

Governor Oborevwori charged the new commissioners to work closely with other members of the State Executive Council to implement the administration's MORE Agenda. He described them as dynamic, resourceful, and capable individuals expected to serve with integrity, diligence, and accountability. Regarding the DESOPADEC appointment, Oborevwori noted that Igbenije was appointed to complete the tenure of a former board member representing his ethnic nationality. He expressed confidence in Igbenije's ability to effectively represent his people and contribute to the commission's mandate of providing infrastructure and development projects in oil-producing communities.

The governor also mentioned that the current DESOPADEC board's tenure had been extended by one year to complete ongoing projects and enhance service delivery. He urged the board to maintain its efforts in providing essential infrastructure like roads, schools, and health centers in oil-producing areas. Addressing the new members of the Judicial Service Commission, Oborevwori reminded them of the commission's critical role in the appointment, promotion, and discipline of judicial officers.
