Oborevwori urges intelligence-led approach to tackle security challenges

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has emphasized the need for security agencies in Nigeria to adopt intelligence-led and preventive strategies to combat the nation's complex and evolving security challenges.

Governor Oborevwori articulated this position in Asaba on Monday during a courtesy visit from participants of the Advanced Intelligence Officers’ Course 16/2026 from the Defence Intelligence College, Karu, Abuja. Represented by his Deputy, Mr. Monday Onyeme, the governor stressed that a proactive and intelligence-driven approach is crucial for effectively managing the current security landscape.

The call highlights a strategic shift towards anticipating and neutralizing threats before they escalate, moving beyond reactive measures. This approach aims to enhance national security by leveraging intelligence gathering and analysis to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities across the country.
