Official Vehicle Emissions Testing Fees for State of Mexico in Second Half of 2026 Announced

Drivers in the State of Mexico will face new official fees for vehicle emissions testing in the latter half of 2026. The State's Ministry of Environment announced the updated rates, which come into effect starting July 1, 2026. To complete the mandatory verification process, vehicle owners must secure an appointment and settle the payment on the same day.

The new fee structure aims to standardize the costs associated with environmental compliance for automobiles. The specific amounts vary based on the vehicle's characteristics, including its type and fuel consumption. For instance, gasoline-powered vehicles with a 4-cylinder engine will pay 483 pesos, while those with 6 or 8 cylinders will be charged 574 pesos. Diesel vehicles will incur a fee of 574 pesos.

This measure ensures continuity for compliant drivers and avoids redundant charges.
